Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at info@southtexassongbirds.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Troyer gourd racks and houses are definitely an investment but one that will last for many years. We have been maintaining T-14 houses that are over 20 years old. When. you purchase Combo sets you get everything you need to start your colony instead of having to piece together houses, poles and predator guards.

Purple Martin colonies can take years to establish. Patience and the right equipment and location are all key. Ask us what you can do to increase your odds of attracting birds.

At any Purple Martin colony there is a chance for a predator attack. Snakes and raccoons can easily climb wood or metal, round or square poles and aerial predators such as hawks and owls are everywhere. Predator guards help protect your martin colony and prevent disturbances to your colony.
